Next Steps
What to Expect in our Emergency Room
As a patient, you will be cared for by staff trained to respond to medical emergencies. We understand a visit to the ER can be a very stressful time; therefore, you should expect us to communicate with you and guide you through your situation. You should always ask questions if you do not understand.
Quality Emergency Care, Close to Home
Clark Regional Medical Center prides itself on patient centered emergency care. We know that when it comes to emergencies, every minute matters.
Emergency Cardiac Care
Our facility has been recognized by the American College of Cardiology as a Chest Pain Center. Our state-of-the-art cardiac cath lab, located next to our emergency department, can provide lifesaving interventions for those experiencing a heart attack. Clark Regional Medical Center has also been a part of the UK Gill Heart & Vascular Institute Affiliate Network for over ten years. Through collaboration, we are able to provide quality cardiac care locally in Winchester.
Emergency Stroke Care
We are also a Primary Stroke Center with the Joint Commission and American Heart Association. Clark Regional Medical Center is part of UK HealthCare’s Stroke Care Network. This affiliation enables seamless stroke care for our patients. University of Kentucky neurosurgeons work in partnership via telemedicine with our emergency room physicians to identify and treat strokes.
Remember: Call 9-1-1
If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, calling 9-1-1 is almost always the fastest way to get lifesaving treatment. EMS staff are trained to revive someone whose heart has stopped. It is best to call EMS for rapid transport to the emergency room.
